Location: Bury St Edmunds

Contract: Ongoing with potential for permanent placement

Teach is looking to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a local school in Bury St Edmunds. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, working closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs.

The Role:

You will play a key role in supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis, helping them to access learning and reach their potential. Duties include:

  • Assisting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support
  • Supporting social and emotional development
  • Creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment

About You:

  • Previous experience working with children with additional needs is highly desirable
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable in your approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one via Teach
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
