Location: Lowestoft
Contract: Ongoing, with potential for long-term or permanent placement
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Teach is currently recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Lowestoft, working full-time, Monday to Friday.
About the Role:
You’ll be providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a variety of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs. Your role will involve:
- Supporting pupils to access learning and develop confidence
- Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO
- Building positive relationships with pupils and helping them manage their emotions and behaviour
- Adapting learning resources to meet individual needs
- Helping to create a calm, inclusive classroom environment
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting children with SEND, either in schools or similar settings
- Positive, proactive, and patient in your approach
- A good communicator and team player
- A DBS on the update service, or willing to apply for one via Teach
- A genuine interest in education and child development
